Your clients are your business. Letting them know you care about them on a personal level is important. Use your CRM program to monitor and flag birthdays and anniversaries.
At your review meetings, make notes of upcoming special events – a new grandchild, a wedding, a child’s graduation, etc. – and put them into your CRM to alert you.
- Have your administrative assistant/office manager set up alerts through your CRM. You can call your particular CRM service to learn how to do this.
- Birthdays and anniversary cards should be hand signed by you and by anyone in the office who has a relationship with the client – the worst thing you can do is make this an “automatic” procedure.
- If you know that a client has a special event (a child’s birth, a graduation, a wedding) send a handwritten note and if you are very close a gift.
